Our Ranch
In 1997 Dan and Beth Young purchased 7 bison heifers. The following year 8 more were added to the herd. In 1998, they purchased land just south of Lac Ste Anne. That year two Bison ranchers, Max Nichols of Stony Plain, and Brian Wiley of Duffield assisted them in the construction of a fence and corral system. Max has continued to provide countless hours of advice and assistance in helping us grow our ranch to what is today, 10 years later.
Our Bison
Our bison are raised naturally. They roam free on our ranch, eating only grass, hay, and a minimum of oats for handling purposes. Our animals are taken to Tofield Packers where they are inspected by provincial authorities, aged in a cooler for 14 days, then cut, wrapped and processed for your dining pleasure.
